A Summerville man reportedly was stabbed in a fight Saturday. According to the Chattooga County Sheriff's Department report, Jeffrey Adam Bishop, of a Maplewood Drive, Summerville, address, told deputies that he had gotten into a fight with another man who stabbed him in the back. Not only was Bishop stabbed, but he was also hit with an aluminum broom, according to the report. The incident occurred at the Maplewood apartments just before 8 p.m. on Saturday. Bishop's girlfriend was a witness to the fight. After the stabbing, the suspect and his girlfriend reportedly left in a white four-door passenger car, possibly a Nissan, according to the report. Bishop was taken by Redmond EMS to Floyd Medical Center, according to the report.  The report does not indicate why the fight occurred, nor does it indicate that the suspect has been arrested.
