A burglary was reported at a Polk Street, Menlo residence on Sunday. According to the report by the Chattooga County Sheriff's Office, Ryan David Gifford said that he and his wife left the residence around 10:30 a.m. to go to church.  He said when they returned they found the front door unsecured and the read door of the home kicked open. Gifford said as the couple were leaving that morning they saw a white male, about 6'2" tall, weighing 215 pounds with read hair and red beard walking down the street in front of the home. He also named someone else that could have broken into the home. The report lists $965 in jewelry and precious metals taken and $120 in livestock.
