A Summerville woman was arrested and charged with public drunkeness after being belligerent with officers on January 9. According to the Sheriff's Department report, a woman called 911 saying that she was at her Sloppy Floyd Lake home and feared for her safety. She said a woman had been at the residence beating on the door and screaming in the yard. When officers arrived they found 36-year-old Mandy Narmore walking down the road, barefoot and bleeding from her nost. She also emitted  a strong odor of alcohol, according to the report. Narmore refused treatment when EMS arrived and refused to give any information to officers while being "belligerent and combative," the report said. While being arrested, she reportedly waled 10-feet toward the police car, stopped and became belligerent again. When officers tried to handcuff her, Narmore reportedly continued to resist arrest. Officers were able to cuff her behind her back and get her into the patrol car. She was charged with public drunkeness and once she arrived at the Chattooga County Jail continued to be belligerent to jail personnel, according to the report.
