US Representative Tom Graves is again co-sponsoring the "Fair Tax", introduced this year as HR 25. The plan would repeal the Sixteenth Amendment and replace the current federal income tax code with a single, national consumption tax. Graves said, "this is the kind of fundamental reform we need to change the direction of our country. Under the fair tax, families could budget on their actual income and use their purchasing power to prow the private sector and create jobs. It would be an honest, simple and fair tax code that would eliminate the expensive filings, confusing forms and legions of IRS agents," according to Graves. 54 members of the New Congress have signed on as as co-sponsors of HR 25.
