Chattooga County Sheriff Mark Schrader told AM 1180 that a suspect is in custody following a shooting on O’Neall Road off old Highway 27 in Trion .  The shooting happened Tuesday afternoon.  Sheriff Shcrader said that his department responded to the scene of the shooting where the suspect fled into the woods.  Law enforcement set up a parameter around the crime scene and a suspect was apprehended a short time later by a deputy as the suspect was attempting to flee in a vehicle.  No word on the condition of the shooting victim, but Sheriff Schrader said the victim was en-route to the hospital in Rome.  We will have more details as they become available.
