A Trion woman was transported to Erlanger at Hutcheson Medical Center Saturday, Feburary 2, after she reportedly was beaten and sexually assaulted by her husband, and confined in the bedroom of her home since Thursday, January 31.

 

According to the report by the Chattooga County Sheriff's Department, officers were dispatched to the Trion residence in reference to a delayed domestic report. The woman reportedly had called her father saying she needed him to come get her as quickly as possible. 

 

She said her husband had assaulted her after a confrontation. The man reportedly  "snapped" during that confrontation and struck her in the face several times with his hands and continued assaulting her for some time, including putting her in a chock hold around her neck, according to the report. 

 

He  then is alleged to have put her in their bedroom and would only let her out to use the bathroom. The woman told deputies that the man made it clear that if she tried to leave or tell anyone, he would kill her. 

 

The woman said he did not provide her with food or water during this time. She reportedly was able to get a cell phone and sneak out of the residence and call her father to help on Saturday.

 

According to the report, the woman's eyes were black and swollen and she had several visible injuries around her facial area, including a broken nose. She also complained of injury to her head telling deputies her husband broke a glass coffee mug over her head. The woman also reportedly had several visible injuries to her neck area and told officers she also had been sexually assaulted.
