A man wanted for a parole violation was captured by the Hays Canine Unit on the bank of the Chattooga River just before 6:30 p.m. Wednesday evening.

Officers with the City of Summerville, Chattooga Sheriff's Department, as well as the Hays State Prison Canine Unit chased Jason Stricklin for about an hour in the woods off Bellah  Avenue, according to Sheriff Mark Schrader.

Jason Stricklin reportedly drove past two city officers earlier in the day, who recognized him.  Stricklin is reported to have parked the car in the area of Bellah Avenue and took off into the woods. 

Stricklin was wanted on a felony parole violation and had led Georgia State Troopers on a foot chase off Mahan Road just a couple of weeks ago, according to Schrader, He has already been charged with fleeing and attempting to elude by the State Patrol.  More charges are expected by the Summerville Police Department after today's chase.
