A Trion woman faces several traffic charges after fleeing from Chattooga County Sheriff's Department deputies on January 3. According to the report, a deputy tried to make a traffic stop on Halls Valley Drive just before the Walker County line. The vehicle reportedly picked up speed as it entered Walker County. Deputy Caine Railey reported that he chased the vehicle into Walker County as it turned left onto Halls Valley Drive and then back into Chattooga County into a driveway on Simmons Flat Road. The driver, Vanessa Brown reportedly ran into the residence with her two children, ages 5 and 8. According to the report, Brown's vehicle stuck a truck as it came to a stop in the driveway. Brown reportedly told Railey she fled because her tax was expired and she had a limited driving permit. Brown was charged with fleeing/ attempting to elude officers, driving with a limited driving permit; and having an expired tag.
