A Summerville man who has reportedly led  police on two foot chases in the past week and a half was arrested and has a total of 26 charges against him.

Jason Stricklin, of  Wildlife Lane Road, led police on a foot chase Wednesday evening through the woods off Bellah Avenue in Summerville. He was apprehended on the banks of the Chattooga River by the Hays Canine Unit, according to Chattooga County Sheriff Mark Schrader, after spending about an hour in the woods.

The Chase reportedly began after Stricklin drove a vehicle through downtown Summerville and was spotted by Summerville Police officers who knew Stricklan was wanted for a parole violation. Officers tried to stop Stricklan who reportedly parked the car and fled into the woods.

About a week and a half ago, Stricklan led Georgia State Troopers on a foot chase off Mayhan Road in Summerville. That time he got away.  

Stricklan has been charged with several violations of the Georgia Controlled Substance Act including; possession with intent to distribute; possession of a controlled substance; possession of a schedule I drug; manufacturing, delivering, distribution; purchase, possession of marijuana distribution or sale, and possession of less than one ounce of marijuana. Traffic charges include two counts of speeding; three counts of failure to stop at a stop sign;two counts of driving on the wrong side of the road;  failure to maintain a single lane; passing in a no passing zone; reckless driving; no proof of insurance, driving with a suspended/revoked license, as well as DUI/ alcohol. He is also charged wtith fleeing/ attempting to elude law enforcement officers, a violation of the open container law, and a parole violation.
