A Chattooga County juvenile was transported to Floyd Medical Center last week when his mother found him unresponsive in his bedroom.

The 16-year-old boy is thought to have overdosed on prescription drugs, according to the Chattooga County Sheriff's Department report.

The report indicates that last Wednesday, February 20, the  boy's mom came home from work around 10 p.m. and attempted to get the youth to come to the door. When he failed to do so she went behind the home and looked into his bedroom window to find him lying on the bed unresponsive.

She climbed into the window and tried to wake him up, but was unable to do so. When deputies arrived on the scene, the boy was awake and reportedly said he had taken hydrocone and xanax, but did not tell deputies how many. He was taken to Floyd Medical Center for evaluation. The case has been turned over to investigators.
