A Summerville man was arrested  for possession of methamphetamine after a traffic stop last week.

 

According to the Chattooga County Sheriff's Department report, Deputy Caine Railey stopped a Ford Taurus on Highland Avenue March 24 that had a broken taillight.

 

The report indicates there was no problem with the driver, but a passenger in the vehicle, Adam Milam, of a James Street, Summerville address, appeared very nervous and kept digging his hands into his pockets. Milam was on felony probation and was informed that his probation officer could be called to search him for contraband.

 

It was at that time that Milam handed over  a container to Railey that contained three clear plastic bags with a white crystal substance that field tested positive for Methamphetamine. Upon searching Milam, Railey found another container with a plastic bag containing a white crystal substance believed to be methamphetamine.

 

Milam was charged with possession and sale of methamphetamine and transported to the Chattooga County Jail.
