Chattooga County Commissioner Jason Winters will be the guest on a Newsmakers Interview today on AM 1180 Chattooga County Radio.

Commissioner Winters talks about jobs and industry in Chattooga County.  Winters said that manufacturing jobs have been seeing a slow increase over the past couple of years and that it appears that the unemployment rate, while still higher than the state and national average, has leveled off over the past twelve months.  Winters sounds a positive note for the future of jobs in Chattooga County, citing the work that is going on with Mohawk in Summerville as an example of good economic news.

The commissioner also talks about the Chattooga County Water District since the termination of the water board earlier this year.  Winters also announced an extension to the Reduced Ag Water Rate sign up for agricultural producers in Chattooga County.

AM 1180 will broadcast the Newsmakers Interview following the 8 AM Newscast this morning and again in the noon hour following the Trading Post program.  We will post the interview to our blog after it has aired on the radio so that you can listen at your own convenience.
