A renegade street-sweeper plowed into a local business late Tuesday night. 

 

According to Rome City Police who responded to the scene around midnight, a street-sweeper was cleaning the parking-lot of the Westside Shopping center on Shorter Avenue when its operator lost control of vehicle and fell off. The sweeper rolled into a car before backing through the storefront of the Book Rack, shattering the window and breaking a fixture within the store.

 

Witnesses say afterwards the unmanned sweeper was driving around in the parking lot in circles until it was stopped. 

 

No one was injured in the incident.
