Fire severely damaged a Lafayette home Tuesday night.

The home on Magnolia Street, just outside the city limits was 50 percent involved with fire fighters from Walker County got the call. No injuries were caused by the first, but one fire fighter was injured in a fall at the scene and was transported for treatment.

A shorted microwave oven is the reported cause of the blaze that damaged an estimated 75 percent of the home.
