An allegation of shoplifting led to the arrest of a Summerville woman on other charges.

According to the report by the Chattooga County Sheriff's Department, it was reported that two women were shoplifting at Walmart. One woman reportedly paid for two items and left with other items she hadn't paid for inside her purse. When confronted outside the store, the woman is alleged to have handed over the items the allegedly hadn't paid for, to the store manager. The woman then is reported to have taken off running, to her vehicle and fleeing the scene.

A Be On The Lookout, or BOLO, was put on the vehicle and it was quickly found by a Summerville Police Officer and stopped in the parking lot of the Mr. Clean Car Wash.  Crystal Brown, of Kay Street, Summerville, said she had no insurance on the vehicle. Her license also came back with a suspended registration, Brown's license came back suspended, as well as a failure to appear. Brown was arrested and taken to the Chattooga County Jail.
