The Trion Bulldogs rolled into Chris Hunter Stadium in Rome Friday night to take on the Darlington Tigers in a pivotal subregion contest.  However, it took exactly 3 seconds for the Tigers to get on the scoreboard and they never looked back.  Trey Edge took the opening kickoff from Trion and raced 75 yards for the touchdown in front of Darlington's homecoming crowd.  Trion would respond by driving down to the Darlington 14 yard line thanks mostly to a spectacular pass reception by Sophomore WR David McCary.  The drive would stall out at the 14 yard line though.   Darlington would score on their second possession to make the score 14-0.  On their second possession, Trion would drive all the way to the Darlington 2 yard line but again the drive would stall out shy of the goal line.  Darlington would add two 2nd quarter TD's to make the halftime score 28-0.

Trion started the 2nd half off on a good note by recovering a Darlington fumble inside Tiger territory.  Senior QB Corey Bethune would connect with  fellow Senior Chandler Lathem on a 20 yard touchdown pass to make the score 28-7.  However Darlington would respond with two unanswered TD's before Trion could answer late in the 4th quarter when Devonya Farmer would score on a 4 yard run with 3:05 remaining in the game to make the final score Darlington 42 Trion 14.

Trion moves to 3-2 on the season and will have an open week next week before resuming action on October 11th against Mt Zion at home.
