Three packs of ribeye steaks discovered in the middle of Rome Boulevard led to the arrest of a 37-year-old Ranger woman.
The manager at Ingles Supermarket called police after a woman was spotted shoving meat into her pocketbook. Sharon Hill is accused of leaving the store without paying for the $57.30 worth of steak.
Deputy Caine Railey caught up to Hill's car on Taylor Ridge. The deputy searched and did not find the meat. But Summerville Policeman Tim Fulmer found the steaks in the roadway.
"Miss Hill admitted to taking the meat. . ." Officer Rickey Van Pelt reported.
Hill was arrested for shoplifting.
