The GHSA officially released the Class A boys public school playoff bracket and as expected, the Trion Bulldogs will enter the playoffs as a #9 seed and play at the #8 seed, Calhoun County.  Calhoun County finished the season ranked # 3 in the GHSA power rankings and posted a 22-2 overall record.

Despite a 13-1 regular season region record, Calhoun County did not fare well in their region tournament and Randolph-Clay won the region and received a higher seed.  All 10 teams out of region 1-A were public schools.  Contrast that with Trion's region 6-A where there are only 3 public schools in the 15 team region.  Trion was 12-0 in subregion play but were eliminated by St. Francis in the 2nd round of the region tournament.  St. Francis went on to win the region 6A tournament and are the #3 seed in the private school playofs.

Nonetheless, Trion will be traveling 5 hours south on the 275 mile trip to Morgan, GA next week.  AM 1180 plans to broadcast the game live.  Join Tom Maxwell and Christian Thomas for the play by play from Calhoun County next week on AM 1180.
