State Senator Jason Carter, the Democratic nominee for Governor of Georgia, visited Chattooga County earlier today. He met this morning with a group of educators at Bonnie's Family Restaurant to discuss the biggest issue on his platform, education. According to Carter, he doesn't want to see his kids grow up and move away to get a good job because the crippled education system here in Georgia has weakened our economy. It's something we can't take anymore, and that is why he is running for Governor. Senator Carter believes that by repairing our education system, we create economic development. He took questions from many of those that attended and addressed the issues brought up including taxes, privatization within school systems, DFCS, and bringing economic development to both rural and urban Georgia. Senator Carter also traveled to the Chattooga County Civic Center for a meet and greet to kick off a series of appearances in North Georgia today.
