On July 28th, a woman in Trion reported a theft to Chattooga County officers.

An officer met with the woman living on McCollum Street around noon. She told the officer that she left her purse in her car, but her wallet was missing. The wallet had been in the floorboard of her car, and she only remembered using it about two days before.

The woman said that she had her driver's license, credit cards, check book, social security and insurance cards inside the wallet. She had already contacted the proper people to discontinue use of certain cards.

The victim said that she had seen a suspicious and unfamiliar man walking down the street, but could not provide any further information for a suspect.
