Walker County's Sole Commissioner Bebe Heiskell proposed a budget for the upcoming year that did not leave Walker County residents happy.

Residents were against the Commissioner's proposition to raise property taxes for the year of 2015. Since there have not been any increases for the past few years, residents do not feel like it is a necessity.

Ms. Heiskell's reasoning for the increase is that one of the county's mills is not performing at the same success rate as before, so a tax increase would help the county play "catch up" for the difference.

Commissioner Heiskell plans to raise the tax around 12 percent.
