Starting today, Chattooga County residents can go to the polls and cast their vote in the liquor by the drink referendum. The measure was supposed to have been on the General Election ballot last November, but due to an error, it was left off.
The measure will decide if restaurants in the county can serve liquor by the drink, something the City of Summerville already allows. Currently restaurants in the county can only apply for a pouring license to serve beer.
Early voting starts today in advance of election day, which will be March 17, 2015.
You can vote at the Chattooga County Registrar Office located on Commerce Street just south of the Chattooga County Courthouse. Polls will be open from 9 AM until 5 PM. Be sure to bring a valid picture ID when you come to vote.
