Melton Andrew Padgett, a sex offender who had led law enforcement on a chase through Chattooga County earlier this month, was arrested in Walker County according to jail reports.

Padgett, who was wanted for the outstanding warrants from Walker County was picked up last week and is also facing additional charges from Chattooga County in connection with the chase. 

Padgett had eluded deputies in Chattooga County and fled on foot.
