According to the website for the National Association of Extension 4-H Agents, their annual conference is currently taking place in Portland, Oregon and Chattooga County’s very own County Extension Coordinator, Rebecca Thomas, is one of those scheduled to be honored during the Awards Ceremony.
Rebecca Brewer Thomas is a native of Chattooga County and as Chattooga County Extension Agent has been recognized in the past as the County Extension Agent of the year by her peers in Georgia.
Cooperative Extension is a partnership of The University of Georgia, the U. S. Department of Agriculture and works with county governments across the state. Through her work at the County Extension office, Rebecca Thomas keeps Chattooga County’s residents up to date on food safety, technology, research, and education and works with the county’s agricultural producers, small businesses and county government.
Congratulations to Rebecca Thomas on her national award that she is receiving this week in Portland, Oregon.
