A LaFayette woman was recently arrested for stealing fabrics from the arts & crafts section at Walmart.
According to reports a loss prevention officer said he saw Lora Beth Chapman, age 35 place the fabric in her purse as well as an opened package of car freshener. The employee said he followed Chapman as she made her way to the checkout aisle where she purchased some of the items, but not the ones in her purse.
Chapman was confronted as she was trying to leave the store.
The stolen items had an estimated value of $45.92.
When police arrived, Chapman confessed to the crime, and was charged with misdemeanor shoplifting.
