A woman was struck by a vehicle, while she was crossing a parking lot heading into work at Roper in Lafayette.

According to Lafayette Police Department, the incident occurred Wednesday shortly before 7:00am after Lindsay Eleam parked her car; Justin Goodridge, driving a 2015 Nissan Titan, told police he was traveling 5 to 10 mph when he accidentally struck Eleam.

When first responders arrived, Roper's medical personnel were already treating the victim.

Goodridge told police, he had turned into the parking lot area from Broomtown Road, when Eleam walked in front of his truck; he added that he was unable to see her because it was still dark outside and there was low lighting.

Eleam said she was suffering leg, arm, and hip pain.
