Police believe they have identified the human remains that were found in Floyd County Friday. The remains were found in the woods near Everwood Court, which is off Canard Road in northeast Floyd County.

Authorities say there is a "strong possibility" that the remains belong to 24-year-old Ashley Jones, who was reported missing by her family in February.

Jones’ mother posted on social media: “My beautiful daughter was found (today). I am heartbroken to say that she is no longer with us. I cannot express to you the heartache and pain I feel. I am only posting this so her friends who care for her knows. Please understand I am devastated and I only ask that what you post is respectful, and please let my family grieve in peace. Thank you.”

The Georgia Bureau of Investigations will be examining that body on Tuesday.
