A man was arrested in Ft Oglethorpe for allegedly waving a gun around while threatening to kill someone.
According to the Ft Oglethorpe Police Department: Adam Drake Delagarza, 37, of Tubman Way in Dalton was charged Nov. 2 with obstruction of officers, aggravated assault, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, burglary, and first-degree criminal damage to property. He has been released on bond.
Officers were dispatched to Alemia Drive a little after 5 a.m. on Nov. 2 in reference to Delagarza pointing a gun at another man.
victim told police he was in an apartment with Delagarza, at which time Delagarza pointed a pistol at him and made the statement, “I’m going to kill you,” reports show. “The victim stated he could hear the click of the offender pulling the trigger,” officer James Davis said. When they approached the apartment, officers encountered a female witness who claimed Delagarza was still inside with the gun and that he was possibly suicidal.
Officers searched the apartment and eventually found Delagarza attempting to hide in the attic area under some insulation material. After failing to comply with officer commands, Delagarza was tased.
Delagarza was transported to Hutcheson Medical Center for care before being transported to Catoosa County jail.
