In a preliminary autopsy, the GBI said that James Harold Kelley, 60, died of natural causes.
Kelley was found dead in his Ashland Park apartment on Saturday. Deputy Coroner Gene Proctor had said that the death was going to be treated as suspicious.
Preliminary results said that the cause of death appeared to be from severe cardiac disease.
A contusion on his head appeared to have been caused by the fall, but the rate of decomposition prevents a perfect analysis.
Previously Police were called to Ashland Park Apartments on Saturday morning to reports
of a dead man. Reports said that the body of James Harold Kelley, 60, was found dead on the floor inside one of the units. They added that it appeared he had been dead between five and seven days.
Deputy Coroner Gene Proctor said that the death seems to be suspicious.
The body will be sent to the GBI Crime Lab to determine the cause of death
