One person was taken to Floyd Medical Center following a two-vehicle accident on the new West Rome Bypass at Turner Bend Road on Thursday. 

According to PFC Katherine Payne of the Floyd County Police Department, a Toyota pickup truck was traveling eastbound on the bypass, and a Ford pickup was attempting to turn on to the bypass from Turner Bend, when the two collided.

The driver of the Ford, identified as 62-year old Steven Soller of Lindale – sustained a cut to the arm, but was otherwise uninjured. The driver of the Toyota, 56-year old Terry Hobbs of Aragon, had to be extricated from his vehicle and transported to the hospital.

The wreck occurred at around 3:30pm.

No citations were issued.
