A shoplifting incident turned into a drug bust in Lafayette. Police arrived at the Food City Store in response to a woman being accused by store personnel of shoplifting; employees say she was placing items in her pocketbook; she was also accused of attempting to run and of fighting with store employees who tried to stop her.
In addition to approximately $75.00 worth of merchandise taken from the store the officers found two types of pills in her purse.
As a result Carley Holland was charged with shoplifting the possession of a schedule II drug and possession of a schedule IV drug in addition to driving on a suspended license.
