North Georgia Electric Membership Foundation channels thousands of dollars back into Catoosa, Chattooga, Floyd, Gordon, Murray, Walker, and Whitfield in Northwest Georgia through its “Operation Roundup Grants” to local non-profit organizations and schools each year.  The grants are given twice a year to organizations seeking to improve their communities in each of the seven counties served by North Georgia Electric Membership Company.

The money if funded by customers "rounding up" their bills – the extra of which is used for charity.  Earlier this year the NGEMC Foundation awarded a $2000 grant to Hope Rebirth Homeless Shelter in Summerville.   Hope Rebirth continues to serve people in Chattooga County and surrounding areas by providing a safe place, warm bed and food to those in need.  Also NGEMC provided a $1,200 grant to Summerville First United Methodist Church for their work in feeding the hungry in our area.

North Georgia Electric Membership Foundation has announced that they will begin taking grant applications for the spring round of grant funding on January 4, 2016.
