Corporal Corey Fielding, with the Chattooga County Sheriff's Office, recently responded to a report of shots fired.  Upon the corporal's arrival in the area of Gadsden Avenue and Atlanta Avenue at Cloudland, the complainant told him that he had been traveling down Highway 157 on his way home from work and he pulled off the shoulder of the road to use his cell phone.

At that time, he said a man pulled up behind him in a dark colored older model Ford Truck – or an older model Ford Explorer – got out of the vehicle and asked him what he was doing.
The complainant went on to say he told the man that it was none of his business – and whilethe man was walking back to his vehicle he reportedly threatened to shoot the complainant if he ever saw him again.

Needless to say the caller left that area, however he pulled over again down the road, and at that time he heard approximately four gunshots and could hear bullets hitting the trees.

He told the officer that he left the area again and the man's vehicle followed him down 157 a short time before finally turning around and heading back in the opposite direction.

A subsequent search of the area by law enforcement along Highway 157 failed to turn up a

vehicle fitting the description given.

The matter remains under investigation.
