A Rome resident remained in jail Sunday without bond after being accused of battering and imprisoning a woman.

According to Floyd County Jail reports – 42 year old Travis Jason Wimpey – of an Elm Street address, was arrested Sunday at around 12:30am at his home after he grabbed a woman by her arm and refused to let her leave.

Wimpey also had a loaded pistol in his pocket; he's charged with felony false imprisonment and possession of a firearm during commission of a crime.

He is also charged with misdemeanor simple battery under the Family Violence Act.
