The jail meals at the Chattooga County Jail will continue to be supplied by Bonnie's Family Restaurant in Menlo after they were awarded the contract by the county.
Bonnie's is providing two meals a day to the prisoners at the jail at a cost of $7.25 per inmate, per day.
That's the same price that Bonnie's supplied the meals for under the last contract, and the Menlo restaurant was the only food service facility to place a bid this year.
Sheriff Mark Schrader said that he is satisfied that Bonnie's is providing a good service for the county and provides meals that fall well within the guidelines prescribed by Georgia state law.
Sheriff Schrader told The Summerville News, "I wouldn't hesitate to sit down and eat one of the meals."
