The National Park Service and the FBI are currently investigating the 

discovery of a body at Chickamauga Battlefield on Saturday.

Hikers reported finding a man's body off of Alexander Bridge Road 

shortly after noon.

According to the park service the man has been identified as 59 year old 

New York resident Duane L. Hollenbeck; he had been reported missing 

in his home state on December 8th.

Reports indicate that Hollenbeck had been dead for less than 24 hours at 

the time the body was discovered; little information is being released 

however officials say there was a cut on the man’s head.

An autopsy will be performed in order to determine an exact cause 

of death.
