A former northwest Georgia resident was arrested on drug charges late Tuesday just across the state line in Cherokee County, Alabama.
According to Leesburg Police Chief Lanny Ransum two Centre Police Officers had generated information which they provided to Leesburg Police, who in turn, conducted a search at the Leesburg Lodge which turned up suspected amphetamine and drug-related other items.
As a result, 49 year old Vernon Glenn Lambert, originally from Rome, Georgia, but currently residing in Cedar Bluff was charged with the Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance and Unlawful Possession of Marijuana 2nd Degree – along with Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
He's currently being held in the Cherokee County Detention Center awaiting a bond hearing
