A Tennessee woman was arrested in Catoosa County for allegedly pulling a knife and then threatening people after being confronted for shoplifting at the Ft Oglethorpe Walmart.
44 year old Juanita Michelle Barker – was arrested on two counts of aggravated assault, possession of meth, shoplifting, with two counts of terroristic threats and acts, obtaining or attempting to obtain dangerous drugs by fraud, giving a false name/information to officers and driving on a suspended or revoked license.
Her bond was set at $37,000.
The incident occurred just before 10:00pm at the Walmart on Battlefield Parkway.
Staff members had already disarmed the woman and were holding her on the floor until an officer could arrive; according to statements she had been in the store for about two hours before she was seen placing several items in a shopping cart – then attempting to leave the store without paying.
When confronted, she allegedly pulled a knife from her pocket – and said the words used in every “street gang” movie made in history – (quote) “I’ll cut you.” (end-quote).
That’s when store security wrestled her to the ground.
As officers searched Barker’s purse they discovered a syringe with a clear substance inside that turned out to be methamphetamine.
Blank prescription papers were also found in Barker’s purse.
Barker was transported to jail without further incident.
