A “hit and run” driver was recently arrested in Lafayette. That arrest followed a sideswipe accident on West Main Street during which a Toyota Highlander reportedly struck another vehicle; the at fault driver fled the scene at a high rate of speed – heading east on Highway 136.
The Highlander was pulled out shortly thereafter by a Walker County Sheriff’s Deputy.
The victim’s vehicle, a 2006 Toyota Avalon, showed damage to the right front fender – and also had a broken rear view mirror; the driver of the Highlander, 37 year old Minal Rejesh Shaw of Cartersville was taken into custody and transported to the Walker County Jail on a charge of Hit and Run.
