The State of Georgia Department of Human Services, with whom North Georgia Community Action Agency contracts – has announced that the Energy Assistance Program will open for the general public, on Monday, January 4th (2016).

All households participating in the program must provide verification and meet income criteria – also be responsible for paying the cost of energy for home heating directly to the supplier – provide the current electric bill – be a U.S. Citizen or Alien admitted to the U.S. in regard to lawful, permanent  residence.
