A bomb threat at a major job provider in neighboring Cherokee County, Alabama is under investigation by the Major Crimes Unit there.

Law enforcement responded to the KTH plant in Leesburg shortly after 6:30 Friday evening in response to the threat.

Leesburg Police Chief Lanny Ransum along with a number of other law enforcement officials including a bomb squad technician with the Major Crimes Unit quickly arrived on the scene. According to Chief Ransum a message was written across the wall of a ladies bathroom in the middle portion of the plant.

The message was written with the same type marker used by many employees to mark welds on the parts manufactured at the plant.

An "all Clear" was finally given at around 11:30 that night.

The plant was never evacuated.

The investigation into the matter is on-going.
