A man has been booked into the Floyd County Jail on charges related to an incident that occurred in the North Rome area on December 15.
According to Floyd County Jail records, 31-year old Eljon Delmar Jackson, of a Nelm Street address, is charged with discharging a firearm near a public place or street, reckless conduct and feeling or attempting to elude police.
According to previous reports, police got a call about gunshots being fired at a residence on Nelm Street.
Police got a description and tried to initiate a traffic stop on North Broad Street.
The suspect pulled into the lot of the Family Dollar on North Broad and fled on foot in the direction of the recycling center.
The officer gave chase and took the man into custody.
He was transported to Floyd Medical Center, complaining of a hip injury.
No one was hit by the gunshots.
