Rome police discovered a Dean Avenue convenience store was burglarized after someone reported what they thought was a gunshot.

According to Rome police reports:

Officers were called to Rick's Little Garden at 1901 Dean Avenue around 3 a.m. where they found the front plate glass window had been broken out.

Officers contacted a representative for the business who showed police surveillance video that showed a black male, about 6 feet tall wearing a ski mask walking around the store around 1:50 a.m.

The man was observed kicking the door open, making entry and jumping across the counter to plunder the lottery scratch off display cases.

At one point he suspect removed the ski mask.

$996 in lottery tickets was taken and the store representative estimated the damage to the door at $1,200.
