A Rome man was in jail Saturday after he allegedly entered a car on Broad Street with the intent to steal something, reports stated.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

Devante Jamal Camp, 23, of 232 Reservoir St., is charged with felony entering an auto and misdemeanor obstruction after he tried to enter the car around 238 Broad Street in downtown Rome and kicked the officer who was trying to arrest him on Friday.

He was being held on a $5,700 bond Saturday night.
