Apparently, Chattooga County is not immune to a little road rage at least not along a stretch of Highway 48.

According to an Incident Report at the Sheriff's Office – law enforcement responded to a call reporting an odd encounter between the complainant, and someone that he didn't know, as the two were traveling in separate vehicles on 48 toward Menlo.

The complainant said that he had started to pass a man in a white, late-model Chevy pickup when the other driver suddenly accelerated.

The man said he did manage to make it around the truck but the other driver tail-gated him all the way to the intersection of Highways 48 and 337, at which point the man in the truck jumped out of the vehicle yelling and cursing – before striking the rear passenger side of the first vehicle, causing some minor damage.

The subject then reportedly got back into his vehicle and headed northbound on 337.

A report was provided to the complainant for insurance purposes.

The complainant did the right thing, by not causing the situation to escalate.
