Chattooga County was extremely fortunate in regard to the weather Friday into Saturday, with local residents encountering few problems – roadways for the most part were in good shape, however caution should still be exercised especially when traveling the back roads where black ice may linger.

According to reports, at one point Georgia Power had roughly 4,000 people without power and North Georgia EMC saw similar numbers, in the region of 3,400 customers.
