The man fatally injured in the head-on collision, occurring Tuesday on Highway 27 in Floyd County has been identified as 26 year old Corey Jamal Evans of Rome.

According to Sergeant Greg Beck with the Floyd County Police Department, a Ford stepside pickup truck traveling north and a Honda Civic traveling southbound collided head-on near the Armuchee Post Office, around 6:30pm.

Evans, driving the Civic died at the scene while the driver of the pickup suffered a leg injury and was taken to an area hospital for treatment. The crash remains under investigation by the Georgia State Patrol.
