The Melanie Inn Convenience Store on Hawkins Drive in Summerville was held up on January 15th by two armed robbers. Summerville Police now believe that they have the two in custody.
Chiragkumar Patel was shot and remains in critical condition at Floyd Medical Center suffering from the gunshot wound he received during that armed robbery.
On Saturday, Summerville Police along with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation and Floyd County Police Detectives executed a warrant against 18 year old Dylon Dave Allen of a Reservoir Street address in Rome. Summerville Police say that they believe that Allen is the one who shot Patel in the January armed holdup. Also arrested was 18 year old Zaykives Banard McCray of a Ross Street address in Rome, who Summerville Police say is the accomplice in that armed robbery.
Both men have been charged with armed robbery, aggravated assault, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime and wearing a mask, hood or other device to conceal their identity.
Both suspects were brought back to Chattooga County to be booked into the Chattooga County Jail.
