Lafayette Police made an arrest at the scene of a house fire on Daugherty Street on Tuesday night.

After responding to the scene, officers spotted Michael Chance Ellison as he was coming out of the home; Ellison was wanted on two outstanding warrants at the time.

After confirming that through the dispatch center, they took Ellison into custody, then put a roof over his head at the jail.

No one was hurt in the house fire.
