Traffic stops taking place in Lafayette over the weekend resulted in three arrests.

Following a tip on an "impaired driver" – police pulled over a vehicle on North Main Street – being driven by Wendy LaBelle Espy. According to the incident report they noticed signs of impairment including slurred speech. The passenger in the vehicle, Michael Peter Espy was attempting to hide a pill bottle.

He was charged with Possession of Schedule II Drug not in Original Container – and the pills were later identified as Oxycodone. Another pill bottle was found in the driver's purse with that bottle containing Xanax.

She was subsequently charged with Possession of a Schedule IV Substance and with Failure to Maintain Lane. Her vehicle registration had also been suspended.

During another stop on Colrain Street for no seat belt the passenger inside the vehicle, later identified as Tabetha Mae Moon, was seen "palming" something in her hand; she was found to be in possession of Hydrocodone pills; a baggie containing marijuana was also located in the waistband of her pants, according to the police report.
